Sea Monsters & Books:

A Reading Focus!

Mark's lifelong work with Children's books and reading continues with Traveling Dinos and The Sea Monster Adventure.

From the beginning, to the end, books are incorporated in a way seen in no other museum/exhibit. As reference points, explanations, inspiration, and sheer fabulousness, great books help the exhibit come to life for your kiddos!

Did you know every classic children's fiction/non fiction series features at least one dinosaur book?

Terrific New Science Fiction and Science Non- fiction is coming at a rate like we've seen with few other areas of interest.

Over and over we've seen hard to reach kids connect with something in the museum that captivates them, which opens the pathway for you to guide them in areas of interest.

One of the coolest things that happens regularly is when we see a kid sitting in the middle of the hubbub of the visit leafing through one of the displayed books, lost in the pages.

Magic does happen here!
After all, it's what we do!
You did know you were in the Magic Business right?

Sharkie and Mark welcome a visit to The Sea Monster Adventure
Phil Wilsons fabulous Paleoart Mural is featured in The Sea Monster Adventure

The Sea Monster Adventure resonates and comes to life for kids because nearly everyone has found a shark's tooth and wondered about the incredible animal it belonged to. In a way, it makes them even more accessible than dinosaurs.

Our fascination with weird, wild and mysterious marine life in the ocean is endless and the thirst to know more creates lifelong learners. The Sea Monster Adventure Helps with That!

The exhibit is part of The Full Traveling Dinos Museum and becomes greatly expanded as a stand alone mini museum and constantly growing exhibit.

How The Adventure Unfolds

The Sea Monster Adventure is a very exciting and unique museum experience and Special Event in the library.

We have over the last several years honed and developed an efficient flow for your kiddos and families visiting the museum.

When your classes and/ or families arrive and everything is ready, the visit begins with a greeting and short intro from Tami or Mark. Everyone is up and moving throughout so no need for chairs. (Maybe a half dozen sprinkled around the space.)

This is a guided tour during the day, and self guided in the evening, with Mark and Tami jumping in with guided tours of exhibits as appropriate.

We do recommend that teachers and families in the evening be involved together for a shared experience, as this greatly enhances the experience.

While the exhibit tables are no touch, the sea monster activity center with incredible marine fossils at the touch table, and the multiple digital microscope table with fossils are full touch and table color coded to make it easy for kids. Everything is kid height and kid accessible.

Books:  We love to feature books and can include the the Sea Monster personal museum library that kids can look through or peruse while there or even better, if you prefer please put out your Sea Monster and ocean books for kids to look through and check out.

There are great photo ops and no restrictions on pictures or videos in the exhibit.

BTW, some kiddos will tell you that they never want to leave!
After all, it is pretty cool :)
